Service and Outreach

St John's reaches out to the local, national and international communities in many varied ways.

Church in Society Committee

The Committe was established in 2003 by the St John's Uniting Church Council. It's purpose is to improve our understanding of what it means to be the church in our society and respond accordingly.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

"Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing,
symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God.
They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace,
mother, hug, shelter and beautify.
Those who have received these shawls have been
uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to
fly above their troubles..."

The Shawl Ministry is going ahead so well that we need people to knit more shawls. There is some wool available in the stand in the Foyer and Kathy Ferguson can advise if you need details.
